Okabuhodo Trail |
Jomonsugi It believed the biggest tree of the Yakusima island. The massive cedar tree who has trunk 16 meters around was estimated 7200 years old. Now tree age is controversial subject since that there is no direct mesurement of the growth ring because the stem of the tree is hollwed. It is considered at leat 2000 years old is reasonable. |

Trail head After 2 hours walking on the forest track,Obakuhodo trail begins at the bridge for the Osugidani stream of the Anbo river. | |
Wilson stump The Big stump is named for the American botanist who visited Yakushima at 1914. | |
Daiosugi After 1 hour climing from the Willson stump, Big cedar tree named Daiohsugi(means the king cedar in Japanease) is stand by the trail. | |
