If you want to climb to the mountains,You should bring precise topographical maps.
We usualy use a series of 1/25000 scale maps which are published by Kokudochiriin(Geographical survey Institute).
Yakushima island is covered by seven pices of prints.You should mind these maps can be bought at only small
number of bookstores where in large cities.Although,It may be difficult to seek book store which sells topographical maps
in Kagoshima city. I think it is best to buy before departing from Tokyo.In Tokyo area ,there are several large bookstores
